Dr. Mary Simms is the Founder & Director of Family
Outreach
Counseling Services, a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural professional
counseling center with a Christ-centered approach. She is also a
featured speaker and preacher at various church conferences and
retreats. Dr. Simms is both a Licensed Christian therapist and
minister, and her ministry is designed to assist people in getting
freed up emotionally so that they may possess all that God has for
them. She has a PH.D. in Theocentric Counseling and Masters’
Degrees in both Marriage & Family and Pastoral Counseling.
Dr. Simms has over twenty years of professional counseling and
speaking experience, working in the areas of marriage and family;
relationship issues; abuse; addictions and recovery; grief and loss;
depression and anxiety issues; boundaries; and interpersonal and
personal growth issues. She has worked and taught both on the
university level as well as in hospital settings and is currently in
private practice as a licensed clinician.
She is a member of the California Association of Marriage & Family
Therapists as well as The American Association of Christian
Counselors and is a preacher and teacher at her local church,
Light & Life Christian Fellowship West, Long Beach, CA.
