Family Outreach Counseling Services is a professional, ethnically diverse clinic with a
Christ centered approach. The integration of theology and psychology is used to assist
people in the therapeutic process to become freed up emotionally, so that they might
uncover, discover and fulfill God’s great plan and purpose for their lives. Professional
individual, couple and family counseling is available.
The professional staff is well equipped and cross trained in integrating biblically based
principles and psychotherapeutic techniques. All staff is either licensed or have a
minimum of a Masters level degree with additional training and certification in specialized
areas such as substance abuse, career counseling and critical incident debriefing.

Dr.
Mary M. Simms has had over twenty five years of
experience working in a variety of diverse settings. Her
experience ranges from being employed in various community
based organizations, academic environments, and private
clinical settings. She has a Ph.D. in Theocentric Counseling,
a Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling
and a Masters of Science in Pastoral Counseling.
Mary not only possesses a clinical background as a therapist,
but she is a minister as well. She was formally a career
counselor at a major university for many years. Dr. Simms is a
featured speaker at church retreats and also serves as an
Associate Pastor at her local church.

Cynthia provides therapy and community resources to help children, adults, and families heal. She also works with those working through loss, grief, depression, or fear.
She has worked in hospitals with child welfare organizations, and in mental health settings for over 25 years. A graduate of the USC School of Social Work, Cynthia also holds a ministerial credential.
